Originaire de Londres en Angleterre, Robert Pattinson a été mordu par la passion du jeu à 15 ans, quand il s'est rendu à la Barnes Theatre Company. Après être monté sur les planches à plusieurs reprises pour camper des personnages différents, il a eu la chance de se faire valoir auprès d'un plus vaste public grâce à Ring of the Nibelungs (2004) , un film tourné pour le petit écran. C'est là qu'il a attiré l'attention de la réalisatrice Mira Nair.

La cinéaste a offert à cet acteur britannique encore inconnu à l'époque une toute petite apparition dans son drame romantique Vanity Fair (2004). Malheureusement pour Pattinson, les scènes où il apparaissait ont été supprimées au montage et se sont uniquement retrouvées sur la version DVD du film. La malchance a poursuivi le comédien au Royal Court Theatre en Grande-Bretagne en 2005 alors qu'il a été remercié de ses services pour la pièce The Woman Before peu de temps avant le soir de la première.

Qu'à cela ne tienne, Pattinson a su rebondir, et de très belle façon. Au cours de la même année, il a mis la main sur un rôle de soutien -- celui de Cedric Digorry -- dans la méga production Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Pratiquement inconnu à Hollywood, le jeune homme a été le premier à passer l'audition pour ce rôle et l'a obtenu à peine une semaine plus tard. Sa prestation a fait de lui une célébrité.

En 2005, il a donc été nommé « Star britannique de demain » par le magazine Internet Times Online et a été étiqueté « le prochain Jude Law » par la revue Teen People.

Encore tout récent, le succès de Robert Pattinson à Hollywood lui a permis d'hériter du convoité rôle du vampire Edward dans l'adaptation au grand écran de l'improbable mais populaire histoire d'amour de Stephenie Meyers Twilight.

Originally from London, England, Robert Pattinson was bitten by the passion of the game at age 15, when he went to the Barnes Theater Company. After being mounted on the stage several times to different people to camp, he had the chance to draw the attention of a wider public through the Ring of the Nibelung (2004) , a film for the small screen. There he attracted the attention of the director Mira Nair.

The film gave the British actor still unknown at the time a tiny appearance in his romantic drama Vanity Fair (2004). Unfortunately for Pattinson, the scenes where he appears to have been lifted up and have only found on the DVD version of the film. The misfortune continued the actor at the Royal Court Theater in Great Britain in 2005 when he was thanked for his services to the play The Woman Before shortly before the night.

Do not worry, Pattinson has bounced, and beautiful way. During the same year, he put his hand on a support role - that of Cedric Digorry - in the mega production Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . Virtually unknown in Hollywood, the young man was the first to pass the audition for this role and got barely a week later. His performance made him a celebrity.
